The magic aeroplane; a fairy tale
A 1911 children's fantasy novel by Loulie Richmond Stebbins Henderson, illustrated by Emile A. Nelson and published by Reilly & Britton in Chicago, in which children fly an aeroplane to imaginary lands. Nelson's pen-and-ink plates use flat black silhouettes and dense hatching for a crowned sun king on his throne, a fairy with a wand, a black cat falling through cloud, and children running past ice spires.
