Magic, white and black; or, The science of finite and infinite life, containing practical knowledge, instruction and hints for all sincere students of magic and occultism
Franz Hartmann's occult treatise on white and black magic, reissued in 1910 by the Chicago mail-order publisher De Laurence, Scott and Co. for students of practical magic and theosophy. The line cuts are stark black diagrams: interlaced pentagrams and hexagrams, three overlapping circles enclosing a triangle, and numbered lozenge grids, all usable as flat geometric marks or occult symbol sets.
