Manly Palmer Hall collection of alchemical manuscripts, 1500-1825
A gathering of hand-copied alchemical, hermetic and magical manuscripts assembled by Manly P. Hall, with texts attributed to Böhme, Bacstrom and Cagliostro, written in Europe between about 1500 and 1825 for practitioners and collectors of occult learning. The plates are pen-and-ink talismanic seals in red, green and black — circles ringed with Latin mottoes, pentagrams, heptagrams, interlocked triangles and invented alphabets — usable as ready-made emblems, borders and lettering.
