A bound volume from Manly Palmer Hall's collection of European alchemical, Hermetic and Masonic manuscripts dated 1500-1825, now at the Getty Research Institute and digitised for researchers of occult texts. The plates shown are marbled endpapers and a leather cover corner: combed red and black swirls, feathered veins and small stone-pattern clusters, usable as backgrounds, cover papers, texture fills and colour references for red-and-black palettes.
