Manly Palmer Hall collection of alchemical manuscripts, 1500-1825
A bound volume from the Manly Palmer Hall collection of alchemical and Hermetic manuscripts (1500-1825), gathered by the American occult writer Hall and now at the Getty Research Institute, holding copied texts associated with Böhme, Bacstrom and Cagliostro. The pictures here are the binding's endpapers and covers: red and black combed marbling in swirling stone and curl patterns, plus red leather corners with gilt fillets, usable as tileable backgrounds, cover papers and edge ornament.
