Manly Palmer Hall collection of alchemical manuscripts, 1500-1825
A gathering of European alchemical and magical manuscripts copied between about 1500 and 1825, assembled by collector Manly P. Hall and now at the Getty Research Institute, made by and for practitioners of Hermetic and ceremonial arts. The pages are pen-and-ink diagrams: concentric circles inscribed with spirit and angel names, quartered seals, crosses and sigils, usable as hand-drawn geometric borders and occult lettering.
