Manly Palmer Hall collection of alchemical manuscripts, 1500-1825
A gathering of European alchemical, Hermetic and Masonic manuscripts dating from about 1500 to 1825, assembled by the American occult writer Manly P. Hall and now at the Getty Research Institute, made for adepts, collectors and later scholars. The images shown are binder's marbled papers: scarlet, black and gold pigment pulled into combed swirls, veins and spatter, usable as backgrounds, endpapers and texture fills.
