A bound volume from the Manly Palmer Hall collection of alchemical manuscripts (1500-1825), copied and compiled by European alchemical, Hermetic and Masonic writers and now held at the Getty Research Institute. The scanned pages here are hand-marbled endpapers in vermilion, scarlet and black, with combed swirls, spot veining and dark spatter that supply full-bleed abstract texture, cover stock patterns and endpaper backgrounds.
