Manly Palmer Hall collection of alchemical manuscripts, 1500-1825
A hand-written, hand-colored German alchemical manuscript from the Manly Palmer Hall collection of alchemical manuscripts (1500–1825) at the Getty Research Institute, copied for practitioners of alchemy and Hermetic study and associated with authors such as Jakob Böhme. Pen-and-watercolor diagrams arrange multi-pointed stars, planetary and metal sigils, a sun face and ribbon banderoles with German captions on aged laid paper, alongside pages of looping cursive script useful for sigil sets, radial layouts and scribal textures.
