The manual arts in New York State
A 1916 report on manual arts instruction in New York State schools, written by Royal Bailey Farnum for the University of the State of New York and issued in Albany for teachers and school administrators. Halftone photographs record classroom exhibits, looms and benches in use, and student work laid out for the camera: carved Gothic tracery panels, thrown and incised pottery, metalwork, and furniture, useful for craft-object silhouettes and period workshop interiors.
