A manual for practical surveyors
A field manual of practical surveying by E. W. Beans, published in Philadelphia by J. W. Moore in 1854 for working surveyors and students. The plates are small line diagrams of triangulation and offset problems: bare rules, dashed sight lines, lettered station points, and one hatched patch standing for an obstacle such as a pond, useful as spare geometric marks and measurement notation.
