Manual of classical literature : from the German of J.J. Eschenburg, with additions
A student handbook of Greek and Roman antiquities, translated from Johann Joachim Eschenburg's German and expanded by Nathan Welby Fiske for American college classrooms, published in Philadelphia by E.C. & J. Biddle in 1855. Wood engravings crowd many small subjects onto each plate: theatre plans, altars and sacrificial vessels, lamps and tripods, gods with their attributes, and oracle scenes, useful as clean outline spot illustrations.
