A manual of X-ray technic
A 1917 physicians' handbook by Arthur C. Christie, published by Lippincott in Philadelphia and London, instructing radiologists in exposure, plate handling, and reading of X-ray films. The plates are halftone reproductions of radiographs: pale luminous stomach and bowel shadows floating in near-black grounds, with hand-lettered arrows marking defects, useful as abstract light-on-dark forms and annotation graphics.
