Handwritten technical notebook on weaving compiled by James Holmes and James Holmes Jr. around 1900 in Burnley, Lancashire, for loom mechanics and textile students. Pen-and-ink plates combine numbered figures of loom linkages, healds, cams and shuttle gear with filled-square point-paper drafts, peg plans and interlacing diagrams, offering grid patterns, black-and-white checker motifs and mechanical line drawings.
