Manuscript notes on weaving
Manuscript weaving notes compiled by James Holmes and James Holmes Jr. in Burnley, Lancashire, around 1900, kept as a working reference for mill weavers and loom tuners. The plates are point-paper drafts: rectangular grids of squares filled solid black, left blank, or marked with crosses and slashes, yielding high-contrast modular patterns, twill diagonals and checkerboard repeats usable as tiling motifs, halftone-like textures, or pixel-grid ornament.
