Manuscript notes on weaving
Handwritten technical notebooks on weaving compiled by James Holmes and his son around 1900 in Burnley, a Lancashire cotton-loom town, kept as working reference for mill mechanics and pattern designers. Pen-and-ink line diagrams show loom gearing, levers and pulleys, warp threading paths and woven-cloth structures, mixed with cursive annotation and signatures — useful for schematic linework, thread-lattice patterns and annotated-page textures.
