The Marine room of the Peabody museum of Salem
A 1921 collection catalogue compiled by John Robinson for the Peabody Museum of Salem, listing the maritime holdings of its Marine Room for museum visitors and ship historians. Halftone plates reproduce rigged ship models photographed in profile against plain grounds, plus older drawings and paintings of brigs, schooners and frigates under sail, giving clean silhouettes of hulls, spars and rigging lines usable as cut-out shapes or line reference.
