Marmor Sandvicense, cvm commentario et notis
A Latin scholarly commentary on a Greek inscribed marble brought back by the Earl of Sandwich, edited by John Taylor and printed at the Cambridge University Press in 1743 for classicists and antiquarians. Engraved plates record the broken stone at full size: dense columns of Greek capitals, stippled and hatched fracture edges, irregular silhouettes of rock useful as lettering samples and textured shapes.
