Martin Schongauer et l'art du Haut-Rhin au XVe siècle
André Girodie's 1911 art-historical study, published in Paris by Plon-Nourrit, surveys Martin Schongauer and fifteenth-century painting and engraving of the Upper Rhine for scholars and collectors. Halftone plates reproduce engravings and panel paintings: crowded Passion scenes, flagellation and Calvary groups, donor portraits in tiled interiors, and Gothic townscapes, useful for late-medieval costume, crowd composition and linear crosshatching.
