A multilingual architectural reference issued in Chicago in 1915 by G. Broes Van Dort, arranging photographs and engraved plates of carved ornament alphabetically by term, with each plate captioned in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish for architects, modellers and draughtsmen. Plates show Renaissance and classical stonework and woodcarving in raking light or line engraving \u2014 acanthus scrollwork, foliate metopes, medallion heads, grotesque beasts and framed panels \u2014 plus the printed label cartouches that border each page.
