Materials and documents of architecture and sculpture : classified alphabetically
A plate compendium reissued in English by G. Broes Van Dort of Chicago in 1915 from the French *Matériaux et documents d'architecture et de sculpture*, gathering measured drawings of French building parts arranged alphabetically by element for working architects, builders and carvers. The 521 plates pair photo-based tone drawings with line elevations of tombs, shopfronts, carved soffits and mouldings, each sheet edged with printed index tabs and engraved attributions in French — usable as ornament reference, tab-label typography, and ready-cropped architectural vignettes.
