Mathematical construction, informal number work for busy hands; grades one and two

Laffin, Nora Louise, 1878- · 1911 · Chicago, A. Flanagan Company · 31 pictures

A teachers' manual of paper-folding, cutting and weaving exercises tied to beginning arithmetic, written by Nora Louise Laffin and issued by A. Flanagan Company in Chicago in 1911 for first- and second-grade classrooms. The plates are small relief-printed diagrams in solid black on cream: checkerboard weaving patterns, squares divided into units, and folding guides marked with dashed and dotted rule lines, usable as ready-made grid motifs, tiling patterns and construction schematics.
