Meditations of an autograph collector
Adrian H. Joline's essays on autograph collecting, published by Harper & Brothers in New York in 1902 for fellow collectors and literary amateurs. The plates reproduce engraved and lithographed author portraits — Sterne in a ruled oval with a small vignette below, a young Romantic in fur collar, Thackeray sketched in chalk beside a tea tray — useful for stipple and hatching textures, oval frames and cartouche vignettes.
