Melting points of some refractory oxides

1914 · National Bureau of Standards · 5 pictures

A 1914 technical bulletin from the National Bureau of Standards reporting laboratory measurements of the melting points of refractory oxides, written for physicists, ceramists, and industrial metallurgists. The plates are line diagrams of furnaces, crucibles, and coil assemblies in plan and section, using hatching, stippled fill, dashed hidden edges, and single-letter part labels that a designer can lift as geometric marks or diagram vocabulary.
