Pierre Patte's 1769 Paris treatise on architectural construction, engraved for architects, builders and engineers working on projects such as the Louvre. Plates are copperplate line engravings: sections through entablatures and vaults, iron reinforcement laid into stonework, coffered ceiling plans seen from below, cornice profiles keyed with letters and figure numbers, and scale bars usable as diagram, ornament or ground pattern.
