Memoirs illustrative of the art of glass-painting
A posthumous collection of Charles Winston's papers on stained glass, issued by John Murray in London in 1865 for antiquaries, architects and glass-painters studying medieval window design. The plates and cuts run to black-ground roundels with interlaced quatrefoil bands, the sacred monogram in blackletter, and heavy initials crowned with trefoil cresting and filled with white vine scrollwork, all usable as printer's ornament, monogram devices or drop caps.
