Memories of an old collector
Memoirs of the Polish antiquities collector Michał Tyszkiewicz, published in English translation in London in 1898 for collectors, dealers and students of classical archaeology. Illustrations mix halftone photographs of Greek and Etruscan marbles, bronzes and terracottas against plain grounds with pen redrawings of vase paintings, giving designers isolated figure cut-outs, black-figure silhouettes with meander borders, and archaic profile heads on plinths.
