Meteoric astronomy: a treatise on shooting-stars, fire-balls, and aerolites
Daniel Kirkwood's 1867 treatise on shooting stars, fireballs and aerolites, published by J.B. Lippincott in Philadelphia for astronomers and educated general readers. The plates are line engravings of orbital diagrams — concentric rings labelled for Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus, dotted comet paths with directional arrows, rayed suns — plus a stippled nebular disc radiating from a spiral core, useful for diagrammatic and celestial linework.
