The middle game in chess
A chess instruction manual on middlegame play by the Russian master Evgenii Znosko-Borovskii, published in London by G. Bell and Sons in 1922 for club and tournament players. The 58 plates are printed board diagrams: eight-by-eight grids with hatched dark squares and small engraved piece silhouettes, from crowded positions to a board holding three pawns and a lone king.
