Military review
Military Review is the professional journal of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, begun in 1922 and written for officers studying tactics and doctrine. The plates here are line-drawn tactical schematics: NATO unit symbols in boxes and ovals, mortar and obstacle markers, arrows of advance, hatched forward-line-of-troops bars, and stippled woods and terrain, useful as a vocabulary of flat diagrammatic marks and map notation.
