Military surgery of the zone of the advance
A 1918 field manual of military surgery by George de Tarnowsky, issued by Lea & Febiger in Philadelphia and New York for army surgeons treating gunshot wounds near the front. The plates shown are outline diagrams of X-ray localizing apparatus—jointed rods, pointers, plumb bobs and dashed sight lines projected onto a flat board—alongside grey halftone photographs of bench-mounted equipment, offering clean lettered technical line work and geometric projection motifs.
