Mémoires de M. le marquis de Feuquière, lieutenant général des armées du roi : contenans ses maximes sur la guerre, & l'application des exemples aux maximes
Posthumously edited memoirs of the marquis de Feuquières setting out maxims of war with historical examples, printed in French at London by Pierre Dunoyer in 1736 for army officers and military readers. The illustrations are letterpress ornaments: small symmetrical tailpiece vignettes and a horizontal headband of acanthus scrollwork flanking shell-topped urns, cut in heavy black line on laid paper, useful as dividers, spot devices and rule-based border units.
