Mémoires de M. le marquis de Feuquière, lieutenant général des armées du roi : contenans ses maximes sur la guerre, & l'application des exemples aux maximes
A posthumous treatise on the maxims of war by Antoine de Pas, marquis de Feuquières, a French lieutenant general, edited by his son and published in French at London in 1736 for officers and students of campaigns. The plates are folding copper-engraved campaign maps of the Rhine, Franche-Comté and Swiss borderlands, with rivers in fine line, hills and woods drawn as rows of small molehill and tree symbols, tiny fortress and church pictograms beside settlements, and place names in engraved italic — a stock of map textures, terrain marks and lettering.
