A French treatise on the maxims of war by Antoine de Pas, marquis de Feuquières, a lieutenant general under Louis XIV, published posthumously in London in 1736 for officers and students of military science. The plates are engraved battle plans of engagements such as Höchstädt and Sintzheim, showing ranks of infantry and cavalry as rows of small blocks, hatched hills, rivers, walled towns and engraved script labels naming commanders and positions.
