Posthumous military treatise by the marquis de Feuquières, edited by his son and published in London in 1736 for officers studying maxims of war and their historical examples. The plates are engraved battle and siege plans with troop blocks, rivers and place names, bound in combed marbled paper whose red, blue and ochre scallops supply ready-made pattern fields.
