Modern city planning and maintenance
A 1914 city planning manual by the German-American engineer Frank Koester, issued in New York for municipal officials, engineers and civic improvement groups. Its 218 plates are halftone photographs of streets, boulevards, parks, bridges and civic buildings in European and American cities, often shot from upper windows, alongside street plans and cross-sections useful for cityscape backdrops, period street furniture and diagrammatic layouts.
