Modern Spanish painting; being a review of some of the chief painters and paintings of the Spanish school since the time of Goya
A survey of Spanish painters and paintings from Goya onward, written by Alfred George Temple and published in London by A. Fairbairns & Company in 1908 for collectors and gallery-goers. The 65 plates are halftone reproductions of oil paintings, mostly crowded historical and genre scenes set in stone courtyards, prisons and interiors, with soft grey tonal range, deep shadow and figures in period costume that suit muted backgrounds and textured overlays.
