Volume 5 of the Bauhausbücher, Piet Mondrian's essays on Neoplasticism, issued in German by Albert Langen in Munich in 1925 for artists, architects and designers in the Bauhaus orbit. The cover sets a black field, red bars and a white cross against heavy sans-serif capitals with a large numeral, and the interior plates reproduce grid paintings as coarse, near-black halftones — useful for asymmetric bar layouts, rotated titling, and flat primary-colour blocking.
