A scientific periodical issued by the Royal Microscopical Society in London from 1869, printed by R. Hardwicke for microscopists and histologists reporting instrument design and specimen observation. Plates combine lithographed apparatus drawings—lamp condensers, brass microscope stands, screw fittings shaded with fine hatching—with rows of numbered diagrams in flat black and outline, useful as instrument silhouettes, technical figure layouts, and simple circular graphic marks.
