Monumenta peloponnesia : commentariis explicata

Paciaudi, Paolo, 1710-1785 · 1761 · Romae : Ex Typographia Palladis, sumptibus Nicolai et Marci Palearini · 53 pictures

A Latin antiquarian commentary on sculptures, reliefs and inscriptions from the Peloponnese, compiled by the Theatine scholar Paolo Paciaudi and printed in Rome in 1761 for collectors and students of Greek antiquity. Copperplate engravings render marble reliefs, coins and gems in fine parallel hatching: draped figures, a nude Herakles with lion skin against a pillar, processions of standing youths, and circular medallions set in blank page space, useful for classical figure motifs, roundel frames, and engraved shading textures.
