Monvmenta antiqva vrbis et agri Brixiani
A manuscript-style antiquarian survey of Roman inscriptions and monuments in and around Brescia, drawn and compiled by Sebastiano Aragonese in 1564 for scholars and collectors of Latin epigraphy. The plates reproduce carved Roman capitals in white on dense black grounds, with funerary altars, cornices, moulded bases and broken stelae grouped and numbered on the page, offering letterforms, abbreviation marks, cartouche borders and stone-fragment silhouettes.
