Mother Goose , or The old nursery rhymes
A children's nursery-rhyme collection illustrated by Kate Greenaway and colour-printed from wood by Edmund Evans, issued by Frederick Warne in London and New York around 1890. Small square colour plates show children in Regency smocks, bonnets and cloaks against pale fields, blossom trees and cottage fences, with thin outlines, flat washes and wide empty margins useful for figure vignettes and spot ornament.
