A volume in the Motor Boys juvenile adventure series, written under the Stratemeyer house name Clarence Young, illustrated by Charles Nuttall and published by Cupples & Leon in New York in 1910 for boy readers following the early aviation craze. The halftone plates are heavily shaded wash drawings of biplanes lifting off wooden platforms, crowds of hatted spectators, an airship meet crowded with dirigibles and balloons, and a night scene lit only by a lamplit window and stars, useful for period flying machines, dense silhouetted crowds, and near-black nocturnes.
