Municipal record
Municipal Record is the weekly bulletin of ordinances, public works reports and civic business issued by the Board of Supervisors of the City and County of San Francisco from 1908, printed for city officials and residents. The pictures are masthead fragments in which the circular city-and-county seal — a miner, a sailor, a shield, rays and a rope border with the mottoes "Oro en paz" and "Fierro en guerra" — overlaps heavy slab display capitals, giving designers a municipal emblem, a rope-ring frame, and letterpress lettering that reads at large sizes.
