Municipal record
The official weekly proceedings of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, printed in the city in 1908 for city officials, department heads and citizens tracking public works and civic business. The plates are masthead fragments: the City and County of San Francisco seal — Phoenix, miner, sailor, rope border and the motto Oro en Paz, Fierro en Guerra — set against heavy block sans-serif capitals, useful for seal artwork, rope-ring frames and bold letterpress title bars.
