Mural or monumental decoration: its aims and methods. Comprising fresco, encaustic, water-glass, mosaic, oil painting. With an appendix
A technical handbook on mural and monumental decoration by the painter William Cave Thomas, published in London by the colourmen Winsor and Newton in 1869 for artists and craftsmen working in fresco, encaustic, water-glass, mosaic and oil. Its plates mix dotted letterpress tables listing painters and their masters, lettered line diagrams of laboratory apparatus, and a wiry engraved lion grotesque with scrolling tail usable as a decorative spot.
