Mysteries of time and space
Popular astronomy essays by the English writer and lecturer Richard A. Proctor, issued in New York by R. Worthington in 1883 for general readers following comets, meteors and nebulae. The plates are printed white-on-black: stippled comet heads and long fanned tails, star fields of scattered dots, meteor streaks against a dark ground, plus lettered line diagrams of orbits and cones — a ready stock of reversed-out celestial forms and fine dot texture.
