Stabilization of gravity oriented satellites Patent
A 1966 United States patent filed by NASA engineers V. K. Merrick and B. E. Tinling covering methods of stabilizing gravity-gradient-oriented satellites, issued for examiners and aerospace engineers and archived in the NASA Technical Reports collection. The plates are ink patent diagrams: a spherical or cylindrical satellite body with radiating booms and damper rods, set in a segment of orbital arc with numbered leader lines, dashed axes, arrows and figure captions, plus the draftsman's hand-lettered signature block.
