Naturalistic photography for students of the art
Peter Henry Emerson's 1889 treatise on naturalistic photography, published in London by Sampson Low for photographers and art students arguing for soft-focus, nature-based picture-making. The plates here are small wood-engraved diagrams of bellows field cameras, plate holders and baseboards, drawn in hatched line against blank grounds, useful as period equipment silhouettes, spot illustrations, or line-art motifs for photography-related design.
