Needle-craft: artistic and practical
A needlework manual by John Q. Reed and Eliza M. Lavin, issued by the Butterick Publishing Co. in New York in 1889 for home embroiderers and fancy-work teachers. Line engravings give outline sprays of flowers and leaves with hatched shading, symmetrical border panels, and dense wood-engraved views of lace and crochet in white on black, usable as motifs, rules, and pattern fills.
